CoolPoly Benefits

CoolPoly thermally conductive injection molding grade thermoplastics are ideal solutions for the packaging of resistors and switches. The plastic package provides electrical isolation and transfers heat. Hot spots are eliminated and device temperature is lowered.

Injection molded thermally conductive thermoplastics have manufacturing or cost advantages compared to ceramic and thermoset packages. Thermally conductive thermoplastics significantly lower the device temperature resulting in improvements in power capacity, stability, tolerance, form factor, and expected lifetime.

CoolPoly  thermally conductive LCP is designed for encapsulation of resistors and switches.

CoolPoly has approximately 10 times the conductivity of conventional plastics.

CoolPoly thermally conductive compounds are molded on conventional injection molding equipment achieving productivity advantages versus other manufacturing methods.

Compared to conventional encapsulating materials, thermally conductive plastics provide:

  • Lower device operating temperatures

  • Eliminate “hot spots”

  • Simplify manufacturing and reduce cycle times
